A little bit more about us

 

The Compass Co. was born out of years of work in workforce support and disability employment services. Through that experience, one thing became clear: many people need more flexible, individualized support than traditional systems are able to provide.

That insight shaped the creation of The Compass Co. — a place focused on practical, human-centered guidance for individuals entering or re-entering the workforce.

We offer 1:1 virtual support and the Work Forward program to help people move forward with clarity, structure, and confidence.

I’ve been an Employment Specialist with TCC for over three years, where I’m passionate about helping individuals move toward meaningful, sustainable employment. My favorite part of the work is walking alongside people as they pursue their goals, every milestone, big or small, is a win worth celebrating.
 
In addition to my direct service role, I serve as the Director of Employment Services for The Compass Co., where I lead efforts to support individuals navigating complex and often intersecting barriers to employment. My approach is rooted in looking at the whole person, understanding that employment success is deeply connected to factors like confidence, life experience, mental health, and support systems. I specialize in helping individuals develop practical strategies to address challenges such as gaps in employment, background navigation, and skill development, while building a clear and achievable path forward.
 
I believe employment is about more than just a job, it’s about purpose, stability, and long-term growth. I strive to create individualized, strengths-based plans that empower people to reach their goals and sustain success.
 
I’m a proud UW–Stevens Point alumna, as well as a business owner and mom. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing racquet sports, cooking and preserving, and getting my hands dirty in the garden.

Alison Swan, MS, CRC + Andrea Marty, M.Ed

Co-Founders
 

Alison Swan and Andrea Marty are the co-founders of The Compass Co., bringing together over two decades of combined experience in vocational rehabilitation, education, and disability employment services. Andrea holds a Master of Science in Education and has extensive experience as a special education teacher, where she led teams and developed programs, systems, and curriculum focused on learning, growth, and inclusion. Alison is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling and over a decade of experience in vocational rehabilitation, specializing in career development, training design, and employment supports for individuals with barriers.

Together, they design and deliver practical, person-centered employment training and tools that help individuals build confidence, skills, and meaningful pathways to work. Their work blends structure, creativity, and real-world application to support both individuals and the organizations that serve them.
